the swedish kärrspindel (direct translation: “marsh spider”, english name: raft spider, scientific name: dolomedes fimbriatus) is a beautiful creature.
looking at it makes me miss having to trudge through the taiga for an hour with my dad just to get to some tiny secret bog lake he has deemed to be the perfect trout fishing spot, and then in an incredibly unskilled way try to catch something while continuously being distracted by any other kind of wildlife in the area. such as the very elegant and fleet-footed kärrspindel.
fuck you, dad. i miss you as well.
